The star of this release is the enhanced Agent system. Think of an Agent as a specialized version of DocsGPT that you can configure for a specific task or context. It remembers your settings, the tools you need, and the state of your work, making it incredibly simple to switch between complex tasks without losing your place.

  • Create and Save States: Effortlessly save the state of your application—including loaded documents, tool configurations, and prompts - as a dedicated Agent.
  • Automate Routine Workflows: Build Agents that perform multi-step tasks, like fetching data from an API, processing it, and then sending a notification.
  • Build Complex Interactions: Each Agent comes with its own dedicated API key and a webhook connection. This allows you to build sophisticated interactions quickly without needing to worry about complex pipelines.

To support our new Agent-centric approach, we've continued to expand our suite of Tools and have given the interface a major overhaul to make them easier to manage and use.

This update introduces some valuable new additions:

  • ReadWebpageTool: Have DocsGPT read and analyze content directly from any webpage.
  • NTFY Tool: Send notifications to your devices to stay updated on automated tasks.

We've also redesigned the Tools section, so now you can easily see which tools are available, how they are configured, and seamlessly integrate them into your Agents.

💬 A Smarter, More Capable Chat Experience

The chatbox is the heart of DocsGPT, and in version 0.14, we've given it an overhaul.

  • Attachments are Here! This is a game-changer. Don't want to create a full knowledge base for a single document? Now you can simply attach files directly to your chat. This is perfect for quick analyses, one-off questions, or building complex document workflows on the fly.
  • Clear and Accessible Sources: We've made it easier than ever to see and manage your sources. They are now clearly visible in the input area, and uploading new ones is a breeze.
  • Integrated Tool Selection: You can now select and activate tools directly from the chatbox, making your interactions even faster and more fluid.

We've also added some quality-of-life improvements, like an improved edit message interface and collapsible question bubbles, to keep your conversations clean and easy to navigate.
